Discover Our MenuBringing the authentic taste of Emilia-Romagna to Warwickshire
Piadina Italia was born from a simple belief: Warwickshire deserves to experience one of Italy's best-kept street food secrets. The piadina – a thin, grilled flatbread from the Romagna region – has been a staple of Italian markets and coastal towns for generations.
We're bringing this tradition to the heart of England, using premium ingredients and time-honoured techniques to create something truly special. Each piadina is grilled to order on our hot griddle, filled with carefully selected ingredients, and folded into a warm, satisfying meal.

Discover the ancient flatbread that's been feeding Italians for centuries
The piadina (pronounced pee-ah-DEE-nah) is a traditional Italian flatbread that originated in the Romagna region of Emilia-Romagna, along the Adriatic coast of Italy. Its history stretches back to ancient times – some say the Etruscans were making similar flatbreads over 2,000 years ago.
Originally a humble peasant food, the piadina was cooked on terracotta dishes called "teglie" over open fires. Made from simple ingredients – flour, lard (now often olive oil), salt, and water – it was the daily bread of farmers, fishermen, and their families.
Today, the piadina has been elevated to a beloved street food, found at every market, beach kiosk, and "piadineria" across Romagna. It's traditionally folded around cured meats, cheeses, and vegetables, creating a warm, satisfying handheld meal.
In 2014, Piadina Romagnola was awarded IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) status by the European Union, recognising its cultural and culinary significance.
A true piadina should be thin, slightly charred in spots, and pliable enough to fold – yet with a satisfying "crack" when you bite through. We grill each one fresh to achieve this perfect balance.
Unlike pizza dough, piadina doesn't use yeast. This creates a lighter, crispier result that's easier to digest and lets the fresh fillings truly shine.
